Maybe Just Maybe........

She will sleep in her own big girl bed! She is sleeping great in there now. We will see!!!
UPDATE.........She did it!!!!!! This is her second time sleeping through the night in her own bed. She woke up about 6:30 because her stuffed animal fell onto a toy that started making loud noises. Note to self- turn off all toys beside the bed! :) We will see if this sleeping in her own bed is permanent. I did miss her snuggling with me, but it is nice to actually sleep beside Scott and not get kicked in the back or pushed to the end of the bed.

Girls Night at Home & Guys Night at the Movies

We had girls night at the house tonight while Scott and his brother, Peyton, went to see Batman. This is Scott's second time seeing it. Emma loved playing with her toys that were located in the middle/bottom of her toy container.
Even Cali got in on the girls night. She had fun playing with Emma's toys. She knows we don't like her "tearing up" Emma's toys, so she will sneak off with them.
We had a fun time. Sweet girl is asleep now and I am enjoying some "me" time while the guys are still out. I am looking forward to some leftover popcorn when they return. I love movie popcorn!!!

Birthday Party & Minnie

We went to a birthday part Saturday morning. The birthday girl was turning 3 and she was having a princess theme. The party was at a local gymnastic's place called No Limitz. They had all kinds of soft pieces the kids could play with and crawl through. Emma loved crawling through them. You can see Scott's head. :)
Scott gets "daddy of the year" award for this next picture. He cannot stand the feel of those sponge cubes. He can't stand the feeling of sponge period. But he got in with Emma and played with her. He would jump in with her and would toss her in them. She loved it!! Then he flipped one time in there while Emma and I watched. Emma had so much fun. This might be the venue for her next birthday party.
Some good friends of ours, Joyce Ann and Anthony, bought Emma this purse. She wanted to take it to church yesterday morning and evening. This was taken as we were leaving yesterday morning. She loved carrying her two play dogs my mom bought her while we were in Orlando.

A Lot of Firsts!!

We have experienced a lot of firsts this past week. It seems like I am only blogging once a week. I hope to get back to blogging several times a week soon. To begin our firsts, I went to the Mart in Atlanta this past Sunday-Monday with Joe and Susan (Scott's dad and step-mom). It was a great experience. Scott experienced his first night at home with Emma alone and did great. My mom fixed him lunch Sunday and then he went out to eat Sunday night with some good friends of ours, so he had it made. :) But I am still proud of him. I told him I could go off more often! He did not agree!! Haha.

Our really good friends, John and Erica, had their first baby Monday evening. Erica was the friend in my last post who was past her due date. Here is sweet Iris. She is so sweet. We saw them Monday when I got back into town. I cannot wait to see her again real soon.
Tuesday was Scott's birthday. We went to my moms for pizza and ice cream cake. The ice cream cake was a first for Emma and she LOVED it. But we did not expect any different.
It was so good!!!
With the help of my brother, dad, and his dad and family, he was able to get a bike rack he had been wanting. He got a nice back several months ago and was wanting an easier way to transport the bike rather than throwing it in his SUV. We are wanting to get me a bike soon so that will help with both of them.
Last Friday, Emma and I went to a local pottery painting place so she could paint Scott something for his birthday. It was her first time painting. We picked it up today and it turned out very cute. I painted the blue background and she painted the green and red. Then the owner helped get Emma's handprint onto the tile that we gave him so he could use it as a coaster in his office at work. We took it to him today at work and he liked it a lot.

Fun & Relaxing Week

Emma and I have had such a fun & relaxing week. On Sunday, Emma and I rode bikes with my sister-in-law and good friend Kalynn. She loves her bike trailer!! Then mom and Krista took her around the block again.
On Monday, I went to the pool with Kalynn and Erica (who was two days away from her due date). That evening, Scott went to take maternity pictures of her and her husband. Nothing like waiting until the last minute!!! :) Emma and I tagged along.
Tuesday, Emma and I hung out around the house. I had a "me" day on Wednesday and relaxed at home. I will be back teaching soon and will not be able to do nothing all day! :)
Yesterday, Emma and I went swimming at Kalynn's with Brittany and Erica. She was one day past her due date then. The four of us girls have been good friends for like 15 years now. We all went to church together growing up. Emma loved the pool!!
This is Kalynn
Here is Brittany
Here I am with Emma
Today, I needed to go to my school for about an hour to get things straightened out so I do not have so much to do when we have to return. I took Emma to hang out with Scott while I ran to my school. He said she got into everything. :) I knew if I took her to my school, I would be constantly picking up behind her and would not get anything done. He sent me this picture of her playing.
She played so hard, she needed a "juice" break. It does not matter what we put in her sippy cup, it is "juice" to her. That is the first thing she says after waking up in the mornings and after nap time.
We went and got a gift for a birthday party we are going to tomorrow afternoon. She is sleeping now and we are about to chill out and watch some TV.

Trip to the Country

We went to Warm Springs Friday after Scott got off of work so he could take Senior pictures of a friend of ours. We all stayed with a family that use to go to church with us. They moved several years ago and the husband built this beautiful log cabin. This is actually the back of the house. I forgot to take pictures while we were there. The front of the house has these huge steps that are so pretty. They live on like 100 acres. We got to see cows, a bull, a donkey, beautiful hills, small mountains, and we went fishing while we were there. The pictures Scott took turned out amazing!!
We left Saturday afternoon and went through Pine Mountain to get to Columbus to do a little shopping. The first stop was to get me a smoothie and this sweet girl thought it was hers. She drank almost half of it. We went to a few stores before heading back home.
It was such a nice mini getaway. We have been busy traveling this summer and we are not done yet!! Emma did pretty good on the 2 hour ride there and back. She did get a little fussy as we got to the end of the 2 hour drive, but overall, did great!!

18 Months!!!

It is crazy to think Emma is already 18 months old today. The time really flies!!! We met Susan and Joe at Turtle Park today. She of course started out eating! :)
Then we went to play on the playground.

Scott met us downtown for lunch and we went to a local BBQ place. Joe and Susan had never eaten there.
She was staring at her daddy in this next picture.
She was enjoying all of her food!! We came home and she took a good nap.
Emma, your daddy and I love you so so much!!!

Happy Fourth!!!

We had a great day!! Scott went fishing this morning and I got to sleep in which felt awesome. We then went to visit his family in Moultrie. Scott and his brother went to a movie. Susan, Emma, and I went to a friend's house so Susan and Emma could go swimming. His dad grilled out for us. We had a great time!!

Here is Emma last July. I love her cute chubby face. She had just learned to sit up good without support.
It is crazy how much she has changed over the year!! We got home and gave her a bath. Here she is right after bath in another red/white/blue outfit. I didn't take any pictures of her in her outfit she wore today. She loves brushing her teeth.
We hope you all had a great FOURTH of JULY too!!!!

Doctor Visit & Sushi

I took Emma to the doctor today because she was pulling at one of her ears. This is her in the "sick" waiting room. She found this little rocking chair and wanted me to make it rock.
She realized two feet rocking was more fun and than just one. Here is a video to prove how funny she is. She is too smart!!
Then she had to play with every toy in the waiting room.
She came home and took a long nap. Then we went out to eat. She loved these beans.
I got my sushi fix :) and then we went and did a quick grocery shopping. It is always better to go right after eating. We do not leave with a bunch of junk!!

Freedom Fest

We had our annual church fourth of July festival last night at Legacy Park. We call it Freedom Festival. We got there and found a spot for our chair and blanket and went out to find the ponies. I knew I wanted Emma to ride them. She rode every carousel she saw in Orlando, so I thought she would love to ride real ponies. She sat right down on them and was so happy!! At the end, we would just saw all done, she would repeat all done, and then get off happily.
She loved riding with Scott too!!
Then they rode the mini carousel too.

We went back to ride the ponies one more time before getting food to eat.
After we ate our food, we got ready for the fireworks. They always do a great job on the fireworks. The finale was amazing!! Emma just sat and stared at the fireworks. The loud noise did not even bother her. In fact, she fell asleep in the middle of the show. How she fell asleep with all of the bright lights and loud noise in a mystery to me!! We met some friends out there and my brother, his wife, and my dad even came to see the show. We all had such a great time!!

Our Wonderful Trip

This post is long and has lots of pictures of our 8 day vacation to Orlando. These are the pictures I took with my phone, so everything is not captured here. My mom took over 700 pictures and Scott took over 500 and I knew if I even started looking through those for the blog, I would get completely overwhelmed. Here we are leaving for Orlando. The four of us were in one car and my brother and his wife were in another one behind us.
Emma did so well on the 5 hour drive. We stopped once to get a few items and another time to eat. She fell asleep in the car very easily too.
We got there and met up with my aunt and uncle and then went out to eat in Downtown Disney at T-Rex. Emma and I came home to sleep and the rest went grocery shopping. It was like 11 at night before we got done eating, but it was great food! The next day it was rainy, so we went to a mall to walk around.
They had a Bass Pro there and had this cute carousel that Emma rode three times!! We went back to the condo and ate spaghetti for dinner and then played games.

On Monday, it was pouring down rain, but we were determined to go to Sea World. My mom, Emma, and I went to watch the Elmo show. Emma loved it. We met the characters after the show and met up with everyone else who had gone to ride a roller coaster. As we came out of the show, the sun was so bright and the rain had stopped.  It made the rest of the day nice.
On Tuesday, we went back to Downtown Disney and then to City Walk to eat at Bubba Gump.
After we ate, we walked around City Walk for awhile. We attempted to take a picture of the Universal globe in the background.
Wednesday, we went to Magic Kingdom. It was misty that morning but after we got through the gate, it did not rain anymore, which we were so thankful for.

Emma loved riding the Dumbo ride with us. She even tried to make it go up and down with the knob.
Emma had so much fun!! She fell asleep in her stroller at the parks pretty easily and would nap for over an hour, which made for a happier girl!!
On Thurday, Emma and I slept in until 11:30!!! We were so tired from spending the whole day at Magic Kingdom. Scott, my brother, and uncle went fishing that morning. Us girls hing out by the pool.
Here is one of the fish that Scott caught on his fishing trip.
After they returned, the three of us, my brother, and his wife went back to Sea World for our free day. We were not there long. We saw one show, some seals and sea lions, and let them ride a roller coaster. Emma loved looking at the sea lions and "barking" at them.
Mom and I took this picture Friday at Islands of Adventure while the rest were riding a roller coaster.
Emma met the Cat in the Hat and friends. She would stare at them all and then tell them bye as we would leave them.
She was taking a break eating a banana with my mom while we rode a ride.
Here we are on the way home with all of her stuffed animals. At one point, you could barely see her. :)
One tired little girl home from a great vacation!!!
