Grilled Corn Helper

We decided later this afternoon that we wanted to grill out pork chops for dinner. We also wanted black eye peas, cornbread, and grilled corn. Emma was such a big helper putting butter, salt, and pepper on our corn before we grilled it. It turned out so yummy thanks to her! :)

Happy MEMORIAL Day!!

Emma's First Field Trip

Emma went on her first field trip today. I had a workshop to attend all day, so Scott went with her and her classmates. They went to the local zoo and played on the playground, rode a train, saw the animals, and played with her friends. She loves the alligators the best!! She played for a little bit and then took a break to eat her oatmeal for breakfast. :)

She had the BEST time!!!

The Rest of Our NYC Trip :)

This is just a glimpse of the rest of our trip. Scott took way more pictures on his nice camera, but it was just easier to download the ones I took with my phone. And I didn't have to stress over which ones I wanted to post out of the hundres that he took. :)

FRIDAY: We were about to hit the city for the day!
The city has done a fantastic job with the 9/11 Memorial. They made these two huge fountains/waterfalls where the two towers once stood.
Mom and I standing in front of one of the memorials.
This was the other fountain. I love the buildings in the background. I also love the trees they planted to represent new life. There was a tree that survived the attack and all of the debris that fell that is still a part of the memorial.
The names of all of those who lost their life were printed around the two fountains.
Another view of the city outside the memorial.
We went to find a restroom after the memorial and spotted a Starbuck's inside the building. Emma loved eating her cake pops!!
Then we were off to see more of NYC!
Here we are on a ferry ride that took us past The Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge. Soon after this picture, Emma fell asleep on me for the entire trip. She was so tired!
SATURDAY: Here is Andriena and Javier after their Central Park wedding.
After the wedding, Scott, Emma, and I went sightseeing some more. My mom went on a dinner cruise with the family/friends that were in town for the wedding. We went to see Yankee Stadium. Yes, Scott wore his Boston hat BUT just for the pictures. Haha!! I was a little terrified!
Then Emma tried to take his hat off. She might be a future Yankee fan!
We saw a park in the Bronx that was very close to Yankee Stadium that we took Emma to play on for a little while.
She loved this little red slide!
SUNDAY: Scott and I went to tour the NBC Studio. We saw where The Doctor's, SNL, and Late Night are all filmed.
Then we went back to Central Park to walk around and of course grab a hotdog from one of the many stands. We found a nice spot on the grass to eat them.

Emma has found her love of hotdogs while we were on this trip. She even spotted a hotdog stand one night heading back to the hotel and just had to have one! Silly girl.
Then we went to the M&M store. They had probably 15 of these huge displays where you got the type and color M&M you could ever imagine! They were giving out samples of the mint M&M which were really good. I am going to have to get some soon!
EVERY
COLOR
IMAGINABLE!!! :)
We asked Emma what color M&M she would want before we got there and she kept saying blue, so she got her blue M&Ms!!
Being silly like always!
Mom wanted to go to the Yankee store. Scott wore his hat the whole time. She likes them- he does not!!
MONDAY: Scott finally got his cab ride on the way to the airport from the hotel. There was only one scare, but one was more than enough!!
We had a BLAST on our trip!! We can check NYC off of our bucket list of places to visit!

Arriving in NYC and Our First Day There

We got up super early Thursday to catch our 6:00 a.m. flight to Atlanta. We chose to get the earliest flight, so that we did not waste a day from seeing NYC. Here we are about to get on our first flight.
Our sweet girl ready to say "hello" to NYC! My mom also went with us on this trip. We were going to a wedding on Saturday (May 11th) and decided to go early and stay longer to make a vacation out of our trip. I must brag on Emma because she did fantastic on both flights to get to New York. We took our portable DVD player and she watched a movie. The  flights did not bother her or her ears at all!!
Poor girly fell asleep as we were going from Atlanta to NYC.
We stayed on 42nd Street in the heart of Time Square & Broadway. It was so awesome to be so close to many things we wanted to see and visit.
Here is our awesome hotel sign that changed multiple colors throughout the day. My favorite was the bright pink sign!!
We were in the Toys R Us Store riding the carousel. Sorry it is blurry. All of these pictures are off of my phone.
What is a NYC trip without a picture of the "Naked Cowboy" and it did not take us long to spot him.
My mom got Scott and I tickets to see The Lion King. I have always wanted to see TLK, but did not think I would actually see it on Broadway. I figured I would see it at The Fox in Atlanta.
It was an amazing show!!! I would recommend it to anyone that is in NYC.
Our first day there was awesome!

New York Prep!

I finally found another pair of sunglasses I like! We went to our local Sunglass Hut to buy them. As I tried them on at home to see if I still really liked them, Emma wanted to wear her pink sunglasses to match me. :)
She was being so silly looking at herself in our big mirror.
Then she did not want to take them off as she laid in bed watching Mickey Mouse and eating peanut butter.
Such a diva. It's our fault. :/ We told her she was getting ready for our New York trip coming up soon.
She is multi-tasking. :) Watching MoMo, sucking fingers, holding Minnie, wearing sunglasses, and eating a snack!!!
She kept telling her bathtub baby, "I hold you. I hold you." Such a sweet girl!!! I am loving this stage/age!!
