She Loves to Draw- Car Washes Not So Much

I know I have posed several pictures lately of Emma drawing, but she loves to draw!!! She goes right to where we keep the computer paper and gets some and the asks for a pen to use. She knows that she can only draw on the paper and has not tried drawing on furniture or walls.......yet! Hopefully she won't ever try that. :)
We went to get Scott's car washed on Saturday. She has been through the carwash several times. She does not love them, but is okay in her seat. Well this time she wanted to sit on the console in the front. We let her since it was just a car wash, we were both in the car, and it was located in a gated parking lot. She loved sitting up front watching everything and not sitting right by the window! I told Scott she will probably now request to sit up front every time. We rode by the same carwash this afternoon and she acted like she wanted to go back to it. Uh huh- just to sit up front. She can't fool us!! ;)
Why does she have to look so much older than she is in this picture?!? Where did my 2 1/2 year old go? Time really could slow down some!

Life With Emma (& Friends) Lately!

We hung out with Jaxon and his family a few weeks ago. We ate pizza and then went and got frozen yogurt.
Big Sister Kylan wanted in the picture too. :) And Emma finally decided to look at the camera.
She LOVES to draw!!
She has recently been wanting to help us cook dinner. We were preparing fried chicken this night and she was a great help!
She has also recently been wanting to wear this hats more often.
Friday night, we met Jaxon's family at the movies to see 'Planes'- it did not hold their attention. Emma sat through both 'Despicable Me's' and 'Nemo', but not 'Planes'.
So we just had our Fall consignment sale and I picked up these pj's for Emma. She has never been a fan of Santa and refuses to get anywhere near him for pictures. But recently, she is all about 'Santa Clause' so she got excited when she saw these and wanted to wear them as soon as I washed them. Maybe she will sit in his lap this year??!! :/

Back to School!!!

I started back to school yesterday. I have a very sweet group of first graders! I always get nervous for the first day, but then I get there and jump right back into it and the nerves go away. This is my seventh year teaching and I have been teaching first grade in the same room all of those years!!! I am excited to see what this school year has in store and cannot wait to see my student's get excited when they learn new things! Emma moved up in her Sunday School class this Sunday and walked right in like a big girl. Also, Emma moves up to her next daycare class on next Monday. I am excited for her to learn more new things & hopefully become potty trained sometime soon!

Week Long Fun at PCB

We just got back from a week stay at the beach. Emma, mom, and I went down together and Scott stayed home to work a few days. He met up with us halfway through the week. Emma loved playing in the pool with Nae Nae!
Here she is one night before heading off to eat at Hook'd- one of the best places to eat on the beach!!
We were being silly while waiting on our food to arrive.
Then we headed across the street to shop and let Emma ride the train and the carousel.
Here we are in front of the huge beach ball they have at Pier Park.
Silly girl checking herself out in the mirror.
This chick loves the beach!!
And drinking coke! :)
This was the night Scott was to arrive at the beach. We were waiting to be seated at a restaurant and he was going to meet us there.
We were both excited to have him at the beach with us!!!
My beautiful mom & I outside the restaurant.
The next day, mom gave Scott and I some time to do things by ourselves. She and Emma went to visit her friend Jill. Emma came back with some toys from Jill's house.
Here we are another day before heading out. It was pouring down rain this day!
It was more like flooding this day. It was so bad that some roads were under water so much they had to be closed! It took way longer to get around this day!
But we braved the storm and went to some shops that were mostly covered. Emma got her some new tennis shoes!
Here is Scott and Emma waiting on the fireworks. We went back and ate at Hook'd because Scott wanted it and they shot off fireworks on the adjoining pier.
We had so much fun on this beach trip! I am so thankful we get to make memories with Emma & her Nae Nae on vacation!!

Summer Fun!

I have not done the best job at blogging frequently this summer. Emma and I have been busy doing different things during the day while Scott is working. These next few pictures were taken one afternoon at my mom's. Emma was helping her pick some vegetables from her garden.

This particular night, Emma insisted on wearing her daddy's Braves hat while watching Toy Story. He was trying to film her saying, "Go Braves" which she says often, but she kept saying, "Go Toy Story!!" :)
These next few pictures were taken on a day we went downtown to see the flowing water, turtles, and to get ice cream.
Then once Scott got home he mowed the grass and Emma watched from the window.
She took a break from watching her daddy mow the grass and I just had to get a picture of all of her arm candy!!
These were taken on a Saturday morning at Cracker Barrel. Scott & Amy(below) came to our church to be the youth pastor the summer after my senior year in high school. We became good friends and they have since moved away, but came to stay a night with us to see everyone and hang out. Amy has lost a lot of weight within the year and we recently found out they are expecting their first baby. She was pregnant in this picture, but she had no idea at the time.
Emma was being silly, silly,
silly!!!
We left Cracker Barrel and went to get a birthday present. Then we went to a first birthday party. It was Minnie Mouse themed so Emma had to dress the part too since she in love with Mickey characters! The birthday girl's momma did not want to keep this big Minnie balloon so it ended up in my car. That thing lasted for weeks!!
Emma loves to draw and as a teacher and her momma I must brag on the way she holds her pencils, pens, crayons, and markers. :)
Josh (Scott's best guy friend & college roommate) came over and Emma actually wanted to play with him.
I just can't help but add these cute pictures of Emma's pigtails.

Here is our first baby, Cali on the way to my dad's before we left for a week at the beach.
Hope your summer is going great!!
