We had maternity pictures taken this past Saturday. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. Emma is so excited about becoming a big sister and we know she will be an awesome bog sister to Landon!!!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11- We don't know the plans God has for Emma & Landon's life, but we are excited to be on the journey with them!!

Landon's Nursery Reveal
We are in love with Landon's nursery!! Scott did majority of the work in his room. I did staple some fabric down to cover the springs on the glider and steam cleaned the carpet, but that is about it. :/ Here is what the nursery looks like from the doorway. We got a company out of Chicago to make the bedding (skirt, bumper pad, sheet, curtains, blanket, and changing pad cover). The 'L' is simply hung on the wall with just the frame (no glass) hung around it. The crib which was used for Emma was white and Scott painted it with red chalk paint.
Scott found a picture on Pinterest that looked very similar to this with the peg board and shelf and so we made it very similar with our style. We went back and forth between a nautical themed with whales or a baseball themed nursery. We ended up going with Scott's choice of a baseball. He wanted just enough baseball pieces in the room to get the theme across, but without looking like a sports bar. Ha!! This was my dresser growing up and again he painted it red. I am in love with the baskets on the peg board with essentials we will use daily with Landon.
This wall is directly to the right of the bedroom door. He wanted to create a collage of items to go on this bare wall. The red frame has chicken wire with several baseball type pictures. We had a friend paint the baseball canvas. Scott is a huge Boston Red Sox fan and wanted to recreate some score board numbers. We decided to use '14' for the year he is to be born. We ordered the chevron baseball print from Etsy. The pennant is something Scott made to add to the wall.
A close up of the red frame with chicken wire.
We bought this glider from someone local for very cheap and Scott painted it with white chalk paint. We had someone local redo the fabric and to also make the cushions thicker than those that came with the chair. We walked into the fabric section at Hobby Lobby and immediately found fabric that matched his bedding perfectly and knew we had to have it for the glider.
The last wall is his book wall. We bought the shelves from IKEA and love how it turned out! We will add newborn pictures of Landon to the two frames in the middle. The two outside frames hold Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves (Scott's two teams) prints that my mom bought for the nursery.
One sweet little thing is missing and then it will be beyond perfect and complete!! Landon will occupy this room in just a few short weeks!!

Fashion Designer?!!?
Emma has fallen in love with my scarves. She wears them around her head and body and pretends to be a princess. She also uses them as a blanket. Last night, she found Scott's belt and decided to make it her new scarf. I promise it was not tight!!! Here she is checking herself out in our mirror.
She has such a fun, silly personality and I just LOVE it!!!

Play Date with Ronald McDonald
We have been meeting at Burger King a couple times this summer for play dates, but the playground area is much bigger. After several times of having to climb in to get the little ones who 'forgot' how to come down, we decided to try a new place with a smaller playground area!!! We met today at McDonald's. These sweet girls sitting with Emma are my friend, Casey's, girls.
They all played so well together. My friend, Kristin, brought her little girl to play too. They were having so much fun together and no mom pregnant or not had to climb in to get one down!!!
It was a successful play date!! :)

Library, Cheese Dip, & Date with Daddy
Emma had a very busy day today!!! We started the day by going to one of our local libraries for their summer activities. Today the local zoo brought in some animals for the kids to see and touch. Emma had no interest in touching the turtle or snake, but did touch the opossum. She then touched some other items they had on the table.
We left the library and drove to a nearby town to pick up some chalk paint so Scott could redo a piece of furniture in Emma's room. I realized halfway there that we were going to get there about an hour before they opened. So we kept driving to the next town past that and ate at a really good Mexican restaurant. They have the best steak tacos I have ever had!!! And my cheese dip loving daughter was in her happy place!! :)
Then we came home and played until Scott got off of work. He was going to take Emma on their first official daddy/daughter date. They went to get a small toy from ToysRUs, ate at McDonald's (Emma's choice), and then went to do several activities at Fun Park. They rode the train, played games, and rode go carts! She had a blast! He wants to make take her on a special date once a month. Here are some pictures they took before their date!
She wanted to be a princess for her date and insisted on wearing two purses & a crown!!!

Dessert with Friends
Emma and I went to Kalynn's house today. Brittany also came and we made some type of chocolate/sea salt caramel bars! Emma was such a big help and wanted to help make them. We were anxious to eat them right out of the oven, so they were kind of gooey. But we took some home and tried the next day and they were so much better!!!!
There's Always Next Time :)
So I took Emma to the dentist for her first official time where she would actually get her teeth cleaned. The sweet hygienist showed her all of the cool tools and even let her hold them. She counted and Emma currently has 20 teeth. And we have been blessed because Emma teeth have never bothered her as they were coming in!
She laid back while the chair went back and then was raised high. But, she refused to let her actually clean her teeth. She had picked out her toothpaste flavor and everything. She even told her she would let her brush it with a regular toothbrush like she uses at home, but in the end, refused to get her teeth cleaned. This dentist office and everyone that works there is awesome! They do not push the kids to do anything they don't want to do the first time because they know the importance it is that kids feel safe and want to come to the dentist!
The dentist came in to see her teeth. Emma knows her because her little boy and Emma went to daycare this past year together.
Maybe next time, she will actually let them clean her teeth!!! :)
