Here Fishy Fishy

My mom, grandma Shelby, Emma, and I went to the small aquarium in town after I got off work Friday. Emma had fun looking at all the little fish and turtles.
She climbed up these steps to get a closer look at the sea animals. She is doing a great job walking on her own now and even walked by herself in the aquarium. Our sweet little bug is growing up too fast!!!

Phillip Phillips Came Back Home!

I live in the same town Phillip Phillip's is from. We went to the same high school. I know his sister from a painting pottery place she use to own. If you do not recognize the name..........he is in the Top 3 for American Idol. The top three contestants go back to their home town for a few days. The people here have showed him just how much we support him. People met him at the airport last night when he arrived. People have followed him everywhere today: to a radio interview, out to eat at one of his favorite local restaurants, to his families pawn shop, to a parade held for him, and then to a concert he put on. It was such a fun afternoon. Scott was helping a friend shoot some video for something, so my brother and I went to watch the concert.
My brother and I on our way to the concert.
Tons of cars on the side of the road leading to the concert.
Emma did so good while we were waiting. She kept herself entertained and did not fuss one time while we were there for several hours.
Excuse the gnat/boogie on her face. :)

Emma and I then met up with my mom and grandma Shelby to listen to him sing a few songs. On the way out, we ran into Scott's dad and grandma Mary who also went to hear him sing. We are all hoping he will win AMERICAN IDOL!!!
A ton of people there to support him.

The Best Purchase

We should have purchased this a LONG time ago. After eating at Firehouse last night, we went to Target to get Emma a toddler bed. She slept in her bed great the first 10-11 monts of her life. Then she started fussing if we put her in it, so instead of fighting with her for an hour, we would just put her in bed with us. She would fall asleep pretty quickly and we would all go to bed happy instead of tired from trying to get her to sleep in her crib. But, we were tired of waking up some morning feeling like we got beat up during the night by her little sweet feet. I was not sure if the toddler bed would even make a difference, but did think she really did not like being confined in the crib and liked the feel of a bed better so it was worth the money to see.
We got home and Scott started putting it together. After it was put together, she played on it for a little while.
She fell asleep pretty quickly but was a little fussy (think it was because she was not feeling good). She slept all night and if she did wake up, we would make the shhhh sound and she would go right back to sleep.
Scott took this next picture this morning when he woke up. It looks to me like she was sleeping very well in her new bed.
Tonight after getting home and bathed, I put her in the toddler bed and sat on the floor beside it rubbing her back. It took all of 2 minutes for her to fall asleep. It is such a great feeling!!!! We should have bought that cute little bed way before now.

Where Firefighter's Go

We almost always go pick Emma up from daycare together on Friday's. She gets so excited when we both walk in to get her.
We went to eat at Firehouse. I was worried if they would have anything for Emma. I know she could eat the meat, but did not think she was ready for the sandwich.......I was wrong.
We got her a kids meal sandwich and she did great eating it like a sandwich...........I did not have to tear it up or anything. We then ran a few errands before coming home to spend family time together.

Welcome To Moes.....................

Yes, we ate at Moe's for dinner tonight. Emma loves their black beans. We found out tonight that she also loves their corn. She had a cheese quesadilla and she kept dipping it in sour cream & their queso. She also ate part of an oatmeal raisin cookie...........yeah I ate the other half.
My mom met us up their for dinner. She had not seen Emma in a few days and was wanting some sugar from sweet girl. She kept standing in the booth and would have the biggest smile on her face.
At one point I told Emma I wanted to take a picture of her and OJan and this is what we got......
She just kept patting her head. It was too funny! Like she was embarrassed to take a picture. I went on to church while Scott & Emma ran a few errands and came back home. Once I got home, we turned on music for her and she kept dancing and pointing to the computer screen at what was showing on the screen with the song.

Races & Hibachi

My mom got 4 tickets to the races in Talladega for this past Sunday. Scott and one of his good friends went. They drove up on Saturday night and came back late Sunday after the race. I was so glad to have him back home at night with me. I do not like going to sleep without him in the house......I just feel much more secure with him at home during the night. But Emma and I survived!
We got up and went to church Sunday and then met Brandon & Krista at Hibachi for lunch. Emma had never had it before and loved it! She ate everything in site. She even ate onions which Scott is not too proud of since he cannot stand an onion!!! Then we all went to the mall to get my mom something for Mother's Day.

What We've Been Up To....

The other night I took this picture of Emma who fell asleep with Scott's wristband he wears for his softball games. She loves to play with it.
Her hair is getting long in the back. We got her "first" haircut a few months back and it took all the baby fine/frizzy hair off and is allowing her hair to grow fast. I was able to put her hair in a ponytail the other night.
She was being silly that night after bath time and kept wanting us to put more bows in her hair. She had like four in at one time. She went through a stage where she would pull the bows out as soon as we put them in, but now they do not bother her!!
Today when we got home she decided she wanted to pack her lunch for tomorrow. She loves to sit on the counter and play in our candy dish. She wanted to take Easter egg bubblegum and Easter egg malt balls to school tomorrow. Don't think so Em.
She has recently decided she does not want to drink milk. She use to love drinking it, but will shake her head no when offered milk. She even does it to her teachers. So I went today and got some strawberry syrup to put in her milk. She drank it once I added this to it. I read that the unhealthiness of the syrup is not that big of a deal in the big scheme of things..........it's more important that she is drinking milk, so if I have to add flavoring to it than that's what I will have to do.
She loves applesauce and yogurt, but really loves Trix yogurt. I have been buying the swirly kind with two different flavors.
She is in a stage where if she can get her hands on a fork, spoon, or in the picture below (the Trix yogurt mixer), she wants to feed herself. She is becoming such a big girl. Excuse the blurry picture. It was taken on my phone and she does not like to sit still for long.
Scott added to her Disney collection yesterday when they went to Target. She has several now and we are looking forward to watching them with her down the road. We are trying to get them before they go back into the vault.
We have had a busy but good week with our sweet girl!! Scott is giving her a bath now and then I am going to snuggle with her!
