Fun Day With Kalynn

We had such a fun day with a good friend of mine today. We met up after lunch and after Emma had her first nap of the day. Yes, at almost 17 months, she still likes her two naps a day. This is sweet girl right after her nap.
We went to a splash park located downtown. It was so nice. There was not that many people there and it completely gated. Emma did not run right to the water, but after some time she would go and play in it.
She walked all over that area like she owned it. She would walk away and squeal with such delight.
My dad happened to be on that side of town and rode by and saw us so he stopped to see Emma for a little while.
Then we went to Kalynn's house to swim and try out Emma's new float.
We bought her one the last time we were at Kalynn's house, but Emma did not want anything to do with it. It only allowed her legs to be in the water. Scott and I saw this somewhere and wondered if she would like it. The picture looked like more than just legs would be in the water. He went to Wal-Mart to get some items with Emma last night and came home with this. It was a great buy. She loved it. Her whole body(chest down) was pretty much in the water. She also could not climb out as easily as she could with the other one. She LOVES water. My dad bought her a water table the other day that she loves too. I will have to take some pictures when she goes outside to play with it again and do a post on it.
YES, even in the pool, this sweet girl loves those two fingers!! :)
After we got out of the pool, we ate freeze pops. She has a thing with having one of each in her hand. If she is eating cheese-its, she wants one in each hand. She was the same way about these.
After a day in the sun and water, she was tired and took a nap when we got home. After eating Sonic cheese sticks and drinking their coke of course!!! :)

Our Living Room

I am linking up for the first time with Kelly from Kelly'sKorner. Today we are to show what our living rooms look like. I am including our foyer in this post only because it is very open to the living room.
I love our simple fireplace. I love burning fires in the fall and winter. The picture above the mantle is a picture Scott took at the beach one time and we had it blown up on canvas. This chair below is one of my favorite spots to sit and relax. Scott took all the pictures of Emma on the wall beside the chair.
Our sweet dog, Cali relaxing on the couch. We love the beach and love to travel, so there are pictures all over our house of places we have been that Scott took pictures to remember our trip.
Here is our front door and another chair. We found it on sale and then found the couch and other chair to go with it. This chair only gets used when we have company haha!!
This is an old painting that my moms cousin did awhile back. We got it and reframed it and hung it in our living room and then she decided she wanted it back. Not happening! :)
This is a painting that a friend of ours painted. We also have several other of her paintings in our house.
These two canvases sit to the other side of the red/white chair. We are going to Savannah/Tybee Island soon and hope to get another vertical blown up to put beside the bird.
Scott's uncle built this for us and we LOVE it.
Here is Emma's corner of the living room. She loves her chair that Scott, OJan, and I got for her first birthday. The wicker basket is filled with her toys. I am OCD about keeping my house clean, so this keeps all of her small toys in one spot. :)
The friend that painted the bridge painting also painted this picture. My mom got her to paint this for us for our first Christmas together married. It is a painting of the exact spot where we got married. It hangs to the left of the front door. My mom wrote our names and the year we were married on the steps.
Here is a bench we have in our foyer with some pictures we have hanging above the bench.

Our Saturday/Sunday

We went to Scott's brother, Peyton's, graduation on Saturday. He graduated from high school. It was bittersweet! I have known Peyton since he was like 8, so I have seen him grow up into a great guy. He is off to college in the same town I went to college. I can't wait to go visit and see how Valdosta has changed. Susan threw a great party with family and friends. It was all so nice. After we ate a delicious meal, some went swimming. Emma would not get in until Scott got in with her. I did not bring my swimsuit, so I tried with her aunt and uncle and she was not happy until it was with Scott.
Peyton is the one looking creepy behind Scott. Haha!!! He is so funny! Emma is like fish in water when she is in a pool. I am taking her Tuesday to get some ideas from a friend of what I can do with her in the pool since she is really too young to learn how to swim.
Today after church we went to eat at my mom's. She was looking at herself on the phone while mom was taking pictures.
She was having fun with her diaper/wipe holder. She was trying her best to fasten it. She is such a sweet/happy girl!!
Then we left to come home to nap with Emma. We grabbed one of my favorite snacks on the way home thanks to my mom. :) I will take Happy Hour Sonic coke and cheese sticks any day!!!! Not to mention.............Scott and Emma love them too.

Fantastic Friday

Friday was such a busy but fun day. Scott had to work until 12:00, so Emma and I started the morning outside. She loves being outside. She loves to pick up rocks that we have in our backyard.
I sent some of these pictures to Scott while he was working and told him Emma was going to be his little yard helper. She loved to look at the flowers in our planter box.
She has a thing with squinting her eyes at us and she did it before we went out for lunch. I sent this picture to my mom who loves to play the squint game with Emma.
Friday was my dad's birthday, so we all (Scott, Emma, my brother Brandon, his wife Krista, and I) took our dad out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. Then since Scott did not have to go back to work, we took Emma to Toys R Us to get her a plastic pool and then to Chuck E. Cheese to ride some of the rides they have there. I have been wanting to take her for awhile. We placed her on one at Toys R Us but did not have any change on us so we took her off and she started crying because she wanted to rise it, so I knew then that she would love Chuck E. Cheese rides.
Yes, there are a bunch of pictures of her at Chuck E. Cheese, but this is how I keep up with what all we do with Emma. I can look back one day and see what all she did on her first visit to Chuck E. Cheese.
Emma and I went on their small play area and rode the slide to get down. She was not sure at first, but was laughing by the end.
Friday night, Emma, my mom, and I went to watch Scott play his last two softball games for the season. Life if totally different now with a walker. Gone are the days that I can sit back and relax and Emma can chill in her stroller. She knows she can walk and get places faster................so she wants to walk EVERYWHERE!! I told a friend at the softball park how we as parents want our babies to walk so much, but then when they do finally learn, we want them to sit down for awhile. Hahaha! She loved eating her cheeseburger and chips that OJan shared with her.
Yes, she was even walking while eating her cheeseburger. She would rest for a quick minute and then would be up walking around again. She said "hey" to EVERYONE she met. OJan said she got her "friendly/talk to anyone" gene.
After she finished her cheeseburger/chips, she wanted some of our boiled peanuts. The girl is an eater and not a picky one, so I can't complain too much. She will eat just about anything you put in front of her.
We watched some of Scott's second game. Somehow Emma has picked up a love for ice. My mom and I both LOVE crushed ice. I put her in the chair I was sitting in and gave her a cup of crushed ice from the concession stand and it kept her occupied until we were ready to leave. I am so glad my mom went with me to the game.
We had such a fun Friday. I hope you all did too!!!

Summer Break Is Here

We have had a busy three days so far. I had to go back to my school Tuesday to finish up, but we got a call from her school that she was freaking out about her feet and was not wanting to walk. I took her to the doctor to see what these two knots were on her feet. As soon as I started to tell him about her feet, he looks at them to tell me she has hand, foot, mouth. This is the second time she has had it. She first got it last May............what is it with May and getting this virus??? This is her at the doctor's office. Standing on her feet that she would not stand on at school. Once we got there and left she has been happy girl and has not whined. I think she just wanted to be with mommy and not at school!!
We finally went grocery shopping Tuesday once Scott got off of work and came home to fix Sloppy Joe's. Scott makes the best!! We wanted something quick because we wanted to get ready for American Idol.
Here is Emma feeding herself. She loves to feed herself. She started off good...................
and this is how she ended. She had already had a bath and insisted on running her hands through her hair, so needless to say, her hair was a HOT MESS!!!
I let her try part of a pop-tart for the first time. She was not sure what to think of it at first, but did give in and eat some of it.
I know it seems like all she does it eat, but I promise it was just the normal daily meals. :) This was lunch yesterday. I fed her the leftover Sloppy Joe and did not have near the mess.
We had a couple friends over last night for the American Idol finale. We were all rooting for Phillip Phillips because he is great, but also because he is from our home town. Emma was awesome for the two hours. She played, ate cheese sticks late at night, and then topped it off with some cheesecake. I promise her wight is only like 50% and she brushes her teeth daily!!! This was her soon after our friends left. She was so tired. I think it is too cute that she has her bracelet and ball she was playing with in bed with her. We love her so so much!!!

Here Fishy Fishy

My mom, grandma Shelby, Emma, and I went to the small aquarium in town after I got off work Friday. Emma had fun looking at all the little fish and turtles.
She climbed up these steps to get a closer look at the sea animals. She is doing a great job walking on her own now and even walked by herself in the aquarium. Our sweet little bug is growing up too fast!!!
